Sessions for Toddlers & Pre-School Children

Walkers to age 5 (infants in slings/pushchairs welcome)

£7.50 per session – discount for block bookings

Our outdoor environment supports the development of many skills; it enables children to explore, investigate and provides the opportunity for embodied experiences where children get to use their bodies and senses. These sessions are not particularly structured, we want you and your child to play together in the setting and in our experience this is the best way to learn! Our Forest School leader and Early Years teacher will be on hand to provide some support to play and to introduce new skills and concepts. Sessions will be loosely based around a theme or a book.

Preschool play sessions for you to stay and play with your little wildlings. We have mud kitchens, hammocks, bubble, painting, den making and much more. There’ll be new enhancements each week often based on stories or the seasons so as well as returning to favourite areas, there’ll be something new to try each visit.

Sessions for Families

Family play sessions are very similar to our pre-school play sessions but run once a month on a Saturday.

Great if you have siblings of different ages!

Our relaxed, learner-led philosophy allows children to learn and grow in a nurturing, inclusive, supportive environment… not to mention a whole lot of fun!

They can choose to learn new skills or develop existing ones, with campfires, woodland craft, tree climbing, nature connection, tool work, storytelling, shelter building, dens, bushcraft, games and projects … or choose to take time to relax, connect with nature and themselves, socialise round the campfire, swing in the hammock and just ‘be’… or anything in between!

Therapeutic Forest School

Our Therapeutic Forest sessions are delivered by qualified Therapeutic Forest Practitioners specifically for children and young people with additional needs or as an intervention for young people who just need a little extra support. Our sessions are designed to break down the barriers to participation and learning through carefully guided opportunities for learning and play.

As with the sessions during holidays, there is much time spent playing. We will work with the children to develop their Forest School skills such as tool use, campfire cooking and fire lighting, but also allow them to follow their own interests and motivations – planning sessions based on these.
